dB LIMIT - Fiber OneShot™

The Fiber OneShot™ will not measure a splice loss, connector loss, bend loss, or fiber attenuation. For that, you would use an Optical Time Domain Reflectometer. It will however report the distance to the first reflective event it sees. This can be a bad connection, break in the fiber or the end of the fiber. The threshold for determining a reflective event can be changed in the Fiber OneShot. The default from the factory is -40 dB. It can be changed to -35 dB or -45 dB.
